Looking back at 2020

It has been a year like no other, and that’s certainly true for us here at The Little Jet Company.

Hand sanitisers, face masks, aircraft sanitation equipment and temperature checks for the crew became part of our lives as we introduced new safety measures to ensure the safety of our passengers and crew during the pandemic.

During lockdown the owners offered the aircraft free of charge to the local NHS. We wanted to do what we could to help the UK’s fight against Coronavirus. From July we transported ventilators and PPE equipment.

2020 was the year we also marked a major milestone. The Little Jet Group, which includes The Little Jet Company and Regency Jet Ltd, was proud to be awarded an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in June. It was granted by the Civil Aviation Authority, the UK’s aviation regulator. We were pleased and honoured to have been awarded the AOC which has enabled us to take control of our own fleet of aircraft.

It was our busiest summer on record, with families opting to travel in their own social bubbles. We saw unprecedented demand for our services. There were passengers travelling with us who had never booked a private jet before.

We also moved cargo around during the year and welcomed plenty of pets on board our flights.

Medical flights during the year included transporting organs and blood, and medical staff.

We also helped our local community, supporting Gloucester Rugby and assisting Cheltenham Town Football Club during the transfer window. We have also supported local businesses by flying key employees who typically travelled commercially before COVID who needed to attend urgent meetings, allowing them to cut their travel time by typically 5-6 hours door to door by using airports closer to their destinations that not all airlines serve.

Now we are looking ahead to the new year full of hope that you will be able to look forward, that you will be able to make plans and perhaps make up for the travel you missed in 2020 by creating memories in 2021.
